Congratulations, Redeemer. We have had a strong August! Average attendance has been over 20 with participation of more than 30. (not everyone is present every week) This is a firm foundation for continued growth as August statistics for any church are often low.

Let's remember monthly Praise and Worship this Saturday at 4 pm. This informal worship offering is lead by Selina and Janeth and features spirited music, dancing, scripture and prayer. This worship offering features mixed traditions. English is used primarily but some of the hymns based on recorded music might be in Swahili. There are ways for everyone to participate.

Yesterday, August 24, was a strong Sunday, with five visitors -- three of them visiting for the fourth time. All stayed and joined us for fellowship. Keep inviting your friends and our church will continue to grow!

We will soon be rallying to plan for the fall and believe it or not, it is not too early to make Christmas plans. So please start thinking of how we might celebrate Christmas together. Last year's multicultural celebration with our cantata was very successful, so we might think about how we can do something along that line again. Planning meetings will be held in the second half of September.

Wednesday's Bible Study is also growing in participation and passion. Last week nine attended, including Bishop Cosmos from Botswana. He talked about his doctoral thesis which focuses on the Bible's mention of food and compares it to an African philosophy. His presentation was very interesting. We also discussed how the Bible starts as the story of God's Chosen People, the Israelites and expands to include Gentiles. Discussions are strong with all participating. Each Bible Study concludes with group prayer. Thanks to Janeth for her leadership of Bible Study.
