We had a wonderful community event on Wednesday, March 5, 2008. This was another opportunity for our Swahili and English Communities to come together and work for the common good.

It went so well that any outsiders could only have guessed that we had all known each other for years -- not just this past year! (This month marks our revived Swahili ministry's first full year! We started the ministry several years ago, but had discontinued for awhile, starting it up again last March.)

Selina, Judy, Marilyn and Freda organized the kitchen. Working on the play were Judy, Abigail, Kevin, Alec, Stanley, Natty, Paul and Leticia. Stanley led worship and Kevin S, Natty, Amanda and a few others helped in leadership.

The community seemed to really enjoy our worship which was a mini-Cantata using the congregation as "choir." This was an entirely original effort and ended up being a cross-generational cross-cultural production.

There were about 60 people at the Soup Supper and Worship. Judging by the number of people who put offerings at the back of the church and who lingered afterwards to talk . .. . everyone was pleased!

Way to go, Redeemer!
